I love this hotel. It’s a little gem in the best location for Arndale and the print works. Unfortunately there was an incident with a very rude cleaner. I was informed the night before the checkout was 11 am . At 10: 3 4 am there was a loud bang on my door with Someone shouting “36” (the door number). I shouted back that I was still in the room assuming that it was cleaning staff. He then shouted back “ when are you leaving”. Then went to the door and explained checkout wasn’t until 11 o’clock and in a very intimidating manner, he informed me checkout was at 10:30 am. I apologise profusely and said I would gather my things and leave as soon as possible. I was left very shocked and a bit shaken up by the way I was spoken to. Then went to reception who were incredibly apologetic and didn’t understand why I was talk to in that manner. I’m assuming that the cleaning staff are employed independently. The reception staff I spoke to really good about it, very professional and explained that they would take action immediately. I will definitely be going back again as I do like the atmosphere here and the staff (excluding the cleaning team). It is an old building but the rooms are very nice, however the walls are rather thin and snoring could be heard from adjacent rooms 🤣. But perfectly fine to get your head down for the night.

My daughter and I loved our little attic room and found the bed really comfortable, meaning we had a great night sleep! The room was clean and really warm after a freezing day of gallivanting. Because our original room wasn't ready we ended up with a free breakfast, which made our morning stress free and was luckily really delicious, bar the coffee which I can't lie was pretty awful to taste BUT alas, it was cafeinated and hot! The staff were all so lovely, efficencient and friendly and I would definitely stay here again as a budget option! I did find the hotel a little tired but for 30 British pounds, tired is amazing! The location was also top notch, around the corner from our favourite restaurant, right by the tram stop for our plans the following day, and near to Victoria station. All in all, we loved it and will definitely be back!

Lovely quirky hotel in the heart of Manchester. Manchester is a city of ugly multi storey hotels built of concrete and glass with no character. On our arrival we were confronted by buildings each more ugly than the last. On parking the car we walked to the Mitre Hotel. An oasis in the town centre, adjacent to a number of very old pubs with lots of character. Staff very polite and welcoming, our room overlooked the Cathedral. There was entertainment in the bar if you were staying in. Do not book this lovely old fashioned hotel if you favour bland surroundings and a corporate atmosphere.

We booked this hotel because of its location and price. Closer to the time we read some reviews and became a little concerned by some of the negative comments that had been left. We had nothing to worry about, we loved it from the moment we arrived. The building is old with plenty of history and character, check in was straight forward and greeted by friendly helpful staff and the room was just perfect with fantastic view of the cathedral. We had breakfast 2 mornings and no complaints at all. Stayed 3 nights and we had the best weekend, thank you and we look forward to coming back.

Was right in the middle of everything we needed, close to AO arena where we went, xmas markets right outside door. I just want to say a big big thank you to the Mitre Hotel, I left a bag down at hotel and I live in Scotland so it was hard to go back down with work etc, they went out their way to post it back up for me, wouldn't have bothered but the stuff in it was expensive so I just want to thank them.
